William J. Emerick, 76, passed away on July 13, 2024.
Born on December 21, 1947 to the late Margaret "Chip" Emerick. In addition to his mother, he is proceeded in death by a brother, Ronald "Tojo" Emerick and sister, Rosemarie Emerick.
He was a 1965 graduate of Mt. Savage High School and attend St. Patrick's Church of Mt. Savage. After high school he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Wasp as an E3 mechanic, he also served on the American Legion Honor Guard in Frostburg and VFW in Mt. Savage.
Surviving are his sister, Bonnie Emerick and friend Harry Michael; bother-in-law, Terrance Emerick; sister-in-law, Sandy Emerick and he was supported by many generations of nieces and nephews. William also leaves behind all his friends at Kline's Restaurant and numerous friends in the community.
William was cremated in accordance with his wish.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 7:00 to 8:30.
A memorial service will follow starting at 8:30 with celebrant Peg Marshall. Military honors will be accorded by Farrady Post #24 American Legion.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Mt. Savage Catholic Church, 300 E Oldtown Rd, Ste 2, Cumberland, MD 21502 or Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
