Vincent “Chub” E. Norris
83, of Mount Savage, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Born September 15, 1933 in Mount Savage to William H. “Tuck” Sr. and Josephine Mae (Werner) Norris; he is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna "Lilly" M. Norris and a brother, William H. Norris Jr.
Chub was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany as a telegraph operator in the Infantry. He was employed with Mt. Savage Brick Yard as a truck driver, Kelly Springfield in the calendar room, the Allegany Board of Education at Fort Hill as a custodian where he retired, and with Monahan Paint Company. Chub was the “S” Club president at Mt. Savage School and was a Little League coach. He instructed hundreds of children, with the Mount Savage Berkley Program during their field trips, in the “Old Fashioned” way of butchering a hog on his property at Calla Hill. He was well known for his hog sausage.
You could never have met a more kind, caring, loving, compassionate, honest, and sincere person in your life. Chub was greatly loved by many and will be missed. Until we meet again in heaven, what a wonderful day that will be.
Surviving are children, Brenda Parry and husband Tom II, Marsha “Jules” Fiorita and husband Todd, Craig Norris and wife Joy; grandchildren, Kristine Alvey and husband Phil, Brittney Parry and boyfriend Martin Riley, Kyle Parry and wife Beth, Matt Fiorita and wife Vanessa, Holly Fiorita and husband Ethan Rohrs, Michaela Norris, Brandon Norris, Audrye Wing, Tanner Schenck and Miranda Schenck; great grandchildren, Alexus England, Gaberiel Fisher, Aniyah Alvey, Josiah Riley, Jaxon Parry, and Adalyn Alvey. Also surviving are brothers, Francis J. Norris, James A. Norris, Regis E. Norris; sisters, Mary G. Fabbri, Elizabeth Shaffer, Pauline Ritchey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Durst Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim McGregor.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Military Honors will be accorded by Old Rail Post #6025 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mount Savage.
