Thelma Yates

Thelma Yates, 98, of Williamsport, MD, formerly of Frostburg, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born on July 20, 1926 to Marshall and Nellie May (Layman) Croston. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, David O. Yates; son, David M. Yates; sisters, Betty L. Croston, Doris L. Bendle, and Blanche C. Bender; and brother, James O. Croston.

Surviving are son, John W. Yates; grandchildren, Mitchel, Curtis, Rebecca, Scott, Jeremy and Eric Yates; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Gary W. Croston and Paul Croston and Daughter-in-law, Susie Yates and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 11 to 12:00 pm at Trinity Assembly of God, Midlothian, MD. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Kristin Beeman officiating.

Internment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park.
