Steven Douglas Eaton

Steven Douglas Eaton, 65, of Mount Savage, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland.

 Steve was born December 29th, 1959, to the late James W. Eaton Sr. and Harriet J. (Lease) Eaton. He is preceded in death by parents and two brothers, James W. Eaton Jr., and Jeffrey A. Eaton; parent-in-laws, Jack and Arlene Cessna; brother-in-law, John Cessna.

 Steve was a 1977 graduate of Fort Hill High School where he excelled in football, baseball, and track. After graduation he joined the military as part of the 82nd Airborne Corps, Ft. Bragg, NC, and later became a Master Electrician with IBEW Local Union 307. He was also a member of the Masonic East Gate Lodge No. 216 AF&AM, Ali Ghan Shrine Club, Cresaptown Eagles #2883, and Cumberland Outdoor Club.

 Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane (Cessna) Eaton; brother, Gary Eaton and sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Kronenwetter and husband Jim, sister-in-law, Krista Eaton; brother-in-law, Chuck Cessna and wife Jacque; nephew, Bret, nieces, Sarah, Emily, Erica and Autumn; god daughter, Taylor Buchanan and her sister Toni Buchanan.

 Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 pm with Celebrant Peg Marshall.

 Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery with Cumberland Post #13 conducting Military Honors on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:00 am.
