Sharon Kay Sagal Jacobs , 68 years young, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at WMHS Regional Medical Center in Cumberland MD; after a courageous fight with cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through her 9 month battle.
Born September 26, 1946, in Frostburg MD; she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Vivian Sagal. Sharon was a member of God’s Little Chapel in LaVale, MD and the Midlothian Assembly of God in Midlothian MD. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Sharon was a member of the Prayer Warriors where she would take the needs of many to the Lord. Sharon gave with her whole heart; she was a very kind and caring person, and always put the needs of others before her own. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her many joys in life included visiting with family and friends, attending church, crocheting, knitting….and pizza.
Sharon leaves behind; a sister, Sonny Lapp; a daughter, Jennifer Sagal and husband Lois Solomon; a son, Shane Jones and wife Joanie and beloved granddaughter, Noella; and her honey of 22 years, husband, Dale Jacobs. Her family sends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Lion’s Center and the Western Maryland Health System for their compassionate care.
Please join us in loving, sharing, and memorializing Sharon at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held at Durst Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Sue Cook officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
