Rosezita Ursula Pope
83, of Mount Savage, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at her residence.
Born May 3, 1936, in Garrett County to Victor and Ruth (Tighe) Robison. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James I. Robison, Benedict Robison, Paul Robison, Leo Robison, Marion S. Robison, Marie Pope, Victor Robison and Marguerite Blahut. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Rosezita was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Our Ladies of the Mountain, Mt. Savage where she dedicated many years. She was a member of the Mt. Savage Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and received the “Volunteer of the Year” award from the Mason Dixon Lions Club. The community was a recipient of many meals served by Rosezita. She enjoyed reading and spending time going to the casino with her niece, Christine.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Earl Pope; children, Leo Pope and wife Michele, Vicky Polinsky and husband Greg, Marie Miller and husband Bill, Donna Wallmark and husband Chris, Joe Pope and wife Annette; six grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one step great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” Robison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s, Mt Savage on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10:00 am with Father Greg Chervenak officiating with her niece, Christine as Cantor.
Interment will be in St. Patricks Cemetery, Mt. Savage.
Pallbearers are Nathan Miller, Zachary Polinsky, Isaac Polinsky, Patrick Pope, Michael Ringer, Tom Beal, and Jim Frankenberry.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to Mason Dixon Lions Club, P.O. Box 414, Mount Savage, MD 21545.
