Robert Sicheri Jr., 83, of Frostburg passed away on December 30, 2012, holding hands with his wife Marietta (Gaudio) Sicheri at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.
He was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Elsie (Judy) Sicheri of Garrett, PA.
Survivors in addition to his wife include, brother, Lawrence and wife Shirley; sisters, Maxine Weiden and husband Sam, Berlin, Carol Mowry and husband Dale, New Mexico, Ruth Berkibile and husband Dick of Edensburg, PA, Barbara Albright and husband Paul, Garrett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School and worked various jobs. A man of many talents, he started a cabinetmaking business with his brother and later joined Maust Brothers Trucking as a mechanic and school bus driver.
Robert moved to Frostburg when he married Marietta, a local schoolteacher. He was employed at McFarland Motors and at Kowell Ford in Motor City, LaVale. He later worked at Prichard’s Hardware and earned a degree in Hardware Management.
After a few years he earned a degree in Elementary Education at Frostburg State University, a four-year degree he completed in just over two years. He substituted in Garrett and Allegany Counties for many years. His last assignment was at the Career Center as a metal shop teacher.
He had many hobbies including many projects in his wood working shop, including remodeling the kitchen, making a stereo cabinet and other household projects. He could fix anything that needed attention. He also liked to go fishing with friends, especially in Canada.
Private family services will be held at Durst Funeral Home with internment at Frostburg Memorial Park.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His dog, Shebie Mia, searches the house for him.
