Robert "Bob" L. Dugan, Jr., aka "Dugie", 70, of Frostburg, MD passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 23, 1954 in California, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Helene J. (Gray) Dugan.
Bob had many passions in his life. He graduated from Beall High School where he found a love for long distance running. Next he graduated from Frostburg State College with a degree in Earth Sciences. He put his studies to work and became a "Friend of Coal" working for numerous coal mining operations in MD and WV for 30 plus years. His knowledge of permitting and coal regulations were impressive. He will be best be remembered for his service to our community as a lifetime member with 45 years in the Frostburg Fire Department (Co 16 #47) and always willing to give a helping hand. Many hours were also spent in his workshop where he enjoyed making his own wood creations for family and friends.
Surviving is his wife, Brenda J. (Brashear) Dugan of 39 years and his beloved dog "Bandit". Dugie also had quite a sense of humor and could come up with a quick quote or word to put a smile on your face. He gave life its all and will be forever missed.
Per Robert's wishes, a private service will be conducted at Durst Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mark Drew, Robert Kortas, Raymond Tighe, James Carder, Michael Kucharczyk and Douglas Kramer.
