Dateline: Frostburg
Robert “Bob” Francis Biggs, 82, of Frostburg, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Born on September 16, 1933, in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Forrest F. and Flora Irene (Bryant) Biggs.
Bob was a US Army veteran; a graduate of Potomac State College, West Virginia University, and received his Masters of Science in Management from Frostburg State University. He retired from Frostburg State University where he served as the Director of the campus bookstore for 25 years. He was a 50 year member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church, a 50 year member & Past Master of Masonic Lodge 99, Cumberland Scottish Rite 33rd degree receiving the KCCH Award, Scottish Rite Retirement Club, Queen City Striders, Frostburg American Legion Farrady Post #24, Frostburg Elks Lodge 470, and Frostburg Moose Lodge.
Bob was an avid and enthusiastic runner, having completed five marathons, three of those were the Marine Corps Marathons in Washington, D.C. which he ran with colleagues from FSU. He also participated and enjoyed all Masonic and Scottish Rite functions.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Esther (Patterson) Biggs; a son, Scott P. Biggs and wife Maria; granddaughter, Jennifer; great-granddaughters, Claire, Sophia and Elise.
The family held a private service and interment was in Frostburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial be directed to Frostburg United Methodist Church, 48 West Main Street, Frostburg, MD 21532.
