Penny Lewis

Penny Lee Lewis, 57, passed away on December 18, 2021 at Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born on February 4, 1964 and is the daughter of the late Carl Hager and Jacqueline Elizabeth Brant. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her father-in-law Robert “Bob” Lewis Sr.

Penny worked at BFS #69 Grantsville, and she was a member of the Men’s and Women’s Auxiliary at Eastern Garrett Fire Department #80 as well as Fire Lady of the Year for Allegany-Garrett County in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021 and earned 2nd place in 2018.

Surviving are daughters, Jolissa Lewis and significant other Steve Frost and Kayla Lewis and significant other, Brandon Johnson; grandchildren, Elissa Logsdon, Kasey Logsdon, Emma Michaels and Carl Joseph Lewis; step-grandchildren, Jayde Johnson and Melody Johnson; brother, Rick Hager and wife Janet Hager; ex-husband and friend, Mark Lewis; Mother-in-law Helen Patricia (Patsy) Joyce Lewis; best friend Kathleen Lewis and husband Jamie Lewis as well as numerous adopted kids, Eastern Garrett Fire Department #80 family and many friends.

Penny will be cremated in accordance with her wishes.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Lavale Baptist Church at 1115 National Hwy, Lavale, MD 21502.
