Paul Donald Hostetler

72, of Frostburg, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at WMHS Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born April 20, 1942 in Finzel to C. Carl Hostetler and Verna C. (Clark) Hostetler. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Joseph Hostetler and a sister-in-law, Delores M. Baer.

Paul graduated from Meyersdale Joint High School in 1959; he was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a retired truck driver from Roadway Express and Allegany Ambulance Service. He served in the Maryland National Guard and retired as a Captain with 28 years of service; he was an EMT with Frostburg Area Ambulance Services and served as Deputy Chief.  Paul was a member of Knight of Columbus #1442, Farrady Post #24 American Legion, Frostburg Elks #470 and the Frostburg Moose #348.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Hazel Y. (Bittinger) Hostetler; a son, Gregg Paul Hostetler, Frostburg, a granddaughter, Emma Anne Hostetler, Frostburg; sister-in-law, Ruby Lee Michael and husband Michael, North Ridgeville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Carl E. Baer, Frostburg; a niece, Carla Marie Frazee and husband Scott, Frostburg; nephews, Stephen C. Baer and wife Elizabeth “Beth”, Frostburg, and Christian Wayne Michael, North Ridgeville; a great niece, Taylor Marie Frazee; and great nephews, Tyler Scott Frazee and Stephen Lee Baer.

Military Honors will be accorded by Farrady Post #24 American Legion Honor Guard at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Baer, Lee Baer, Scott Frazee, Guy Griffith, Jason Griffith and Larry Werner.  Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Arnold, Darrell Arnold, Blaine Arnold, Ronnie Arnold and Tyler Frazee.

A private interment will be held at Finzel Cemetery.
