Nellie Lyons

Nellie E. Lyons , went to be with her lord on September 19, 2020 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born March 10, 1928, in Cumberland, MD.  She is the daughter of the late Hannah and Orval Hager. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lyons; two sisters, Mary O. Penrod and Alice I. Yommer.

Nellie was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Midlothian, MD, for many years. She retired from the Allegany Board of Education in 1996 after 30 years of service.

Nellie is survived by her son, Darrell L. Lyons, Frostburg, and his girlfriend Beth A. DeVore and the DeVore Family, Ellerslie; and nieces and nephews, Robert Penrod, David Penrod, Debra Eader, Karen Skidmore, Linda Yommer, John Layman and Barbara Ann Stine; many great neighbors and friends who have been a blessing to her over the years.

At Nellie’s request there will be no viewing or services.
