Nancy Lee Hunter

Nancy Lee Hunter passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19 in her room at Egle Nursing Rehab in Lonoconing.  She was a life-long resident of Frostburg and daughter of Inez Middleton. She was born April, 19, 1939. Nancy attended Pullen School, graduated Beall High class of 1957 before attending Frostburg State in the teacher ed department.
 
Nancy is survived by her children Chuck Hunter and wife Cheryl, Ridgely , Md; Lori McKenzie, Frostburg; Jeffrey Hunter and wife Cassie, Frostburg; son-in-law, Gary McKenzie, Finzel.  She has five grandchildren Tara Hunter, Sadie Paolucci, Addie Mckenzie, Keleigh Devore and Kory Hunter.  Nancy also enjoyed her three great grandchildren.  In addition, Nancy is survived by an aunt-like sister Betty Harden, Frostburg and sister Sarah Maas, Berkeley Springs.
 
Nancy spent many years working at Sacred Heart Hospital, Continental Motel, and The Braddock Best Western.  No job was ever too small or too big. Her “job of love,“ as she called it, was help to raise her grandchildren.
 
Nancy loved family gatherings at the holidays and spending time with her friends at Valley View and Frostburg Heights.  She enjoyed a long work friendship with Karen Clise. Nancy was a friendly soul who never met a stranger and always gave more than she received.  As an early teacher candidate, she emphasized the importance of reading.
 
Upon her request, Nancy will be cremated at Durst Funeral Home with no public service.  A celebration of life will be held at Thanksgiving. The family would like to thank the staff at Egle for their kind and professional efforts.
