Michael Patton

Michael David Patton, 73, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016, at his residence.

Born on April 24, 1943, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late William Albert and Olive Mary (Fram) Patton.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Kitty Jones.

He attended St. Michael’s School and served as an altar boy at the church.  He was a graduate of the 1964 class of LaSalle High School and was retired from Lucent Technologies where he worked as a telephone technician.  He had previously worked for Bell South and AT&T.

Michael was a very kind-hearted and generous man who always put his family first.  He was a wonderful brother, father, grandfather and friend.

Surviving are daughters, Gail Jones, Clarysville, Rhonda Hazlett, Cumberland and Mary Sheetz, Cumberland; grandchildren, Jennifer Hazlett, Rhoni Hazlett, James Najera, Daniel Sheetz, Raymond Sheetz and Dylan Sheetz; great-grandchildren, Elliott, Phi, Phineas, Domino, Remington, Oliver and Zachary; sister, Rose Dentinger, Cumberland; brothers, Charles Patton, Frostburg, and Frank Patton, Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, MD, on Monday, May 9, 2016, at 11 am with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.
