Mary Alice Shipe, 84, of Frostburg, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born July 26, 1929 in Mount Savage to Henry C. Pfister and Dora (Derrick) Pfister. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Shipe and a brother Harry Pfister.
Mrs. Shipe was a homemaker and a member of Allegany United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Blank, Mount Savage; a son, Dennis Shipe and wife Dana, Zihlman; five grandchildren, Sarah Carman and husband Donald, Kevin Shipe, Justin Shipe, Heather Shipe and Rachel Shipe; great grandchildren, Kalee Lashley, Jacob Shipe and Kailey Yutzy; four brothers, Henry Pfister Jr.,Va., Edwin Pfister, Mount Savage, Franklin Pfister, McKees Rocks, Pa, Lester Pfister, Grantsville; a beloved sister, Dorothy Porter, Cresaptown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Alice was cremated in accordance with her wishes; a “Celebration of Life” was held on her 80th Birthday with good music and plenty of food.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
