Mary Louise Keating, 93, of Frostburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016, at the Golden Living Center.
Born on January 3, 1923, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Michael V. and Norene (Henckel) Larkin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Alice Coleman and brothers, Michael and George Larkin, her beloved husband Joseph J. Keating and granddaughters Larkin E. Keating and Caitlin N. Keating.
Mary Louise graduated from Beall High School and completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Frostburg State College. She retired from teaching in the Allegany County public schools. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Frostburg where she was a member of the Sodality, Catholic Daughters of America and for many years Director of Religious Education at the parish. Aside from her church activities she enjoyed traveling and politics and she was elected to the Allegany County Democratic Central Committee.
Surviving are daughter, Mary Anne James and husband Bob, Dagsboro, DE; sons, Joseph Keating, Frostburg, Patrick Keating, Washington, D.C. and Gerald Keating and wife Andrea, Clarksville; grandchildren, Katie Mace, Kacey Trent, Rachel Keating, Hannah Keating, Matthew Keating and Madelaine Keating; one step-grandson Brian Weimer; great-granddaughters Maggie Mace and Emma Mace
