Marlene Jane Diehl

Marlene Jane Diehl, 85, of Midlothian, went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home.

Marlene was born on May 18, 1938, to the late Daniel J. and Verna E. Folk. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Harry L. Diehl of 64 years, her brothers, Dan and Claire Folk and sister, Zeltha Evans.

Surviving is her daughter, Barbara Terry and husband Jim; son, Allan Diehl and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Corey Stahl and husband Paul Natiw, Logan Stahl and partner Sarah Stahl; Drake Diehl and wife Katie; Hunter Diehl and wife Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Isla and Asher; brothers, Donald, Allan and Blaine Folk; and sister Donna Otto. 

Marlene graduated from Northern High School in 1956. She worked at the Flushing Shirt Company for a brief time before devoting her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking family meals, crocheting, traveling on various vacations with family and friends, spending time with neighbors and fishing with her husband. In her later years, she enjoyed bird watching, puzzles and socializing with friends at McDonalds. 

Marlene was a dedicated member of Mt. City Church (formerly Welsh Baptist Church). She especially enjoyed and found comfort in the worship music.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 1 PM to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM.

Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
