Malia Buckel

Malia Ann Buckel (Golden), 49, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, she was the daughter of John (Skip) and Celeste Golden.

Preceding her in death are her two brothers, John Calvin Golden III and Jared Raymond Golden, and her father, John Calvin Golden II.

She was a graduate of North Carroll High School, class of 1992, in Hampstead, Maryland. In her adult life, Malia was a dedicated in-home caretaker in Allegany County for several years and enjoyed working in the printing business for Cavanaugh Press in Rosedale, Maryland.

Malia is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

She is survived by her mother, Celesta Lee Golden (Osbourne); daughter, Karina Ann Paton (Derek); and two grandchildren, James and Josephine Paton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may directly be made to Durst Funeral Home.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12205 Gramlich Rd SW, Lavale, MD at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center for their love and compassion in caring for Malia.
