Louis Femi

Louis Paul “Louie” Femi, 66, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at his home.

Born on December 28, 1952, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Louie and Dina (Rossi) Femi.

Louie was a graduate of the Police Academy and began his career at the LaVale Barrack.  He then transferred to Frostburg State University where he was a Detective Sargent and Criminal Investigator and was supervisor of the evening shift. He was president of the Allegany Crime Solvers for 20 year and oversaw the merger with Mineral County. He was the president of the FOP and a member of Allegany Lodge #048.

Louie was an avid golfer and the game was his life.  He was a life member of the Maplehurst Country Club and was a starter at Rocky Gap.  Following his retirement at age 52, he volunteered at the Lion’s Chicken project.

Surviving are his wife and soulmate of 16 years, Carol (Watson) Femi; daughter, Catina Marie Femi; granddaughter, Jade Bowling; brother, John Femi and wife Patti; niece, Ashley; nephew, Tyler; cousins, Ted and Joe Femi; brother-in-law, Frank Watson and wife, Jessica, and their children Bailey, Caden and Eden; best friend, Lynn Lewis; numerous golf buddies; mother-in-law, Carol; and his dog, Bella, his little “Daddy’s Girl”.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Monday, September 23, 2019, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11 am with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Frostburg Memorial Park.
