Lloyd "Buddy" Wade

August 30, 1938 — September 28, 2019

Lloyd E. “Buddy” Wade, 81, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 30, 1938, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Lloyd H. and Margaret E. (Aldridge) Wade.

Buddy was Episcopal by faith. Following graduation, he attended Cathermans’s Business School and was employed at Glass Services, Inc.   He was a member of the Mt. Savage Fire Department where he served as Chaplain, a member of the Allegany and Garrett County Fire Association and the Fire Police.

He enjoyed woodworking and loved making anything from wood, especially canes and candle boxes.  He was an amazing man and was a second father to many. Buddy never met a stranger.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Colleen “Kay” Wade; daughter, Michelle Wade and fiancé Shawn Tyler; son, Larry Wade and wife Lea; grandson, Quinton Swann; granddaughter, Nikki Kitzmiller; special cousins, Jan Boggess and wife Betti Ann and Carley Wade and wife Viola; numerous cousins; and his fire house family.

In accordance with his wishes, Lloyd was cremated.

A graveside memorial service will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Cemetery on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 12 noon, with Rev. George Harpold officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a Celebration of Life held at Mt. Savage Fire Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations, in Mr. Wade’s name, be made to Durst Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses or to the Mt. Savage Volunteer Fire Department.
