Leona Agnes Baker

Leona Agnes Baker, 86, of Frostburg, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 8, 1936 in Frostburg to the late Marion J. Minnick and Mildred Ilene (Jefferies) Minnick. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Robert, James, Joseph, and Raymond Minnick.

Miss Baker was Catholic by faith in God always; a loving mother and housewife. She loved Day Care where she helped everyone and had a loving heart of gold. Her nickname was “Sissy” given to her by the family; her joy was her grandchildren whom she loved very much.  

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Robosson and Mary McKenzie; sons, Billy Baker and Richard Baker; grandsons, Ricky Schiver and Josh Schiver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Chris Skidmore.

Pallbearers will be Doug McGraw, Billy Baker, Richard Baker, Tim Siegmyer, Danny Shlinger, and James Minnick as honorary pallbearer with his grandson, Derrick Minnick serving in his place.
