Lauren Filer

Lauren Nicole Filer, 24, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at her home surrounded by family.

Born on October 8, 1992, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Michele Pauline (Robertson) Filer and William Francis Filer.

Lauren was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles L. Robertson, Jr., and paternal grandfather, William Alfred Filer.

Lauren was a graduate of the Mountain Ridge High School Class of 2010.  Following graduation from Potomac State and WVU, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Rite Aid.

She was a spontaneous personality, free spirited, and marched to the beat of her own drum.  She loved playing soccer and did so from youth soccer to Potomac State College.  She loved her music and her smile was contagious, but most of all, Lauren loved spending time at the beach.

Surviving are her mother, Michele (Robertson) Filer and Todd; father, William F. Filer and Teresa; maternal grandmother, Gayle Kenney; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Frances Filer; siblings, Matthew Robertson, Mikayla Filer, William “Evenn” Filer and Ellie Filer; uncle Chuck Robertson; aunts, Crystal Ogden Filer and Debbie Helmick Filer; special niece, Rose Filer; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and best friends, Brodie Witt and family and Alex Yost.

She will be greatly missed by all her friends.  Your pain has been released. Fly high my angel.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, MD on Friday, December 16, 2016, from 11 am to 12 pm.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 pm.
