Laura Llewellyn

Laura Edna Llewellyn, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home, Grantsville, Md.

She was born on October 26, 1929 to the late Mary (Ross) and James A. Blubaugh. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Oscar "Red" Llewellyn Jr., her brother, Rev. James E. Blubaugh and two infant sisters, Betty and Jean and son-in-law, James Cogan.

Laura was co-owner of Morning Sun Dairy Farm, Meyersdale, PA, which she operated with her husband for 42 years before moving to LaVale, Maryland. She attended Trinity Assembly of God in Midlothian for many years.

Laura was well-known for her love of cooking and especially for her coconut cream pies. She used her gift of hospitality to feed many people throughout the years. Laura also taught Sunday School in the local community. She was an Interior Design School graduate and loved to decorate her homes.

Surviving are her daughters, Gloria Cogan, Farmington, PA; Mona Dunn and husband John, Bedford, PA Debbie Crissinger and husband David Sr., Meyersdale, PA; grandson, David Crissinger Jr. and wife Kristen; granddaughter, Lauren Underdonk and husband Josh; great grandchildren, Declan, Nora, Ellie, Hudson and Caleb. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Joan Blubaugh and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Goodwill Mennonite Home for the kind compassionate care provided to Laura over the years.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11 to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jim Jeffries officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family request Memorial donations in lieu of flowers to Goodwill Retirement Community, 891 Dorsey Hotel Road, Grantsville, MD 21536 or to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
