Judith “Judy” Ann Frances Tomlinson of LaVale, MD passed away at home on February 5, 2022.
Judy was born on May 12, 1942 at her family home in Frostburg, MD. She was the daughter of Louise Wilhelm Robeson and Owen Blocher Robeson. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Parochial School where she received the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. She graduated from Beall High School in 1960 where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert Aaron Tomlinson. They were married at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on May 31, 1962 while Bob was in the United States Navy. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
Judy retired from ATK after 27 years. She enjoyed doing crafts such as needlepoint, crocheting and making quilts. Recently she made masks for relatives and friends during the pandemic and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Judy are her husband Robert “Bob” Tomlinson of LaVale, MD; daughters Gretchen M. Riggs (Dale) of Morgantown, WV; Pamela A. Barker (Rod) of Keyser, WV, and her son Matthew A. Tomlinson of LaVale; her grandchildren, Amanda M. Riggs Tennant (Clinton), Jeremy K. Riggs (Taylor), Derrick M. Staggs, Andrew M. Staggs (Alleshia) and her step-grandson Blake M. Barker; six great-grandchildren, Collin D. Tennant, Riley A. Tennant, Nicholas C. Riggs, Bentley M. Staggs, Watson K. Staggs, and Knoxton A. Staggs.
Judy also leaves one sister, Linda L. Carney (Patrick) of Lewes, DE and four brothers, Owen B. Robeson (Judith) of Point of Rocks, MD, Ronald L. Robeson, Sr. (Patricia) of Odenton, MD, Kenneth R. Robeson (Jane) of Mechanicsville, MD, and Jeffery J. Robeson (Brenda) of Mechanicsville, MD; one brother-in-law Thomas Tomlinson (Barbara) of Loarstown, MD. Also surviving are thirteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Dale Riggs, Rod Barker, Jeremy Riggs, Derrick Staggs, Andrew Staggs and Clinton Tennant.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Michael in Frostburg with Fr. Ed Hendricks officiating.
Private burial will follow the Mass.
