Joyce Louise Connor, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, formally Frostburg, died May 1, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born November 1, 1932 in Mount Savage, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Glendora (Uhl) Burch.
She was a graduate of the 1950 class at Beall High School in Frostburg, MD. She retired as co-owner of The Carpetman Decorating Shoppe and Viking Men’s Wear in Frostburg, MD. She was a lifelong member of the Frostburg Eastern Star. She attended St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, MD.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Leon E. Connor; sons Charles Robert Connor and wife Anna; Jamie Connor and wife Lynn; and daughter Janey Smith and husband James, all of Hagerstown, MD; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister Betty Sansom of Hagerstown, MD. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, playing the piano, dancing and traveling.
There will be a Celebration of Joyce’s Life on Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Avenue in Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. James Smith and Rev. Mike Henning will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, MD.
