John Charles Nolan, 64, of Cumberland, MD left us peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, March 24, 2025. He was in the comfort of his home, in his favorite recliner. He was not alone for he had his kitty "Baby" near him as he crossed to the other side. John was born at Fort Huachuca, AZ and followed in his father's military footsteps, joining the United States Navy in 1978 as a Seabee, Construimus, Batuimus "We Build, We Fight".
John left us to meet up with his grandparents Luther and Erma Glass, and John and Beatrice Nolan. He is now able to shake his dad, Sam Nolan's hand and embrace his mom, Sissy Nolan in a long-awaited hug. He will also be able to hear "Uncle John" as he gives his soccer star nephew Seth Shaffer a high five and learns golf from Marcus Warner. He will also be able to embrace six grandbabies that passed shortly after birth. He is hugging his favorite uncles Joe, Hut, and Jim Glass and singing with his cousin Amanda Glass.
Those he had to leave behind are his bothers of many adventures George Nolan (Brenda), Kenny Nolan (Janice), along with his sister, Dawn Shaffer (Micky), "Wee Dawn" as he loved to call her. His beautiful daughters, the sport loving Stephanie Millard (Kevin), Krystal Nolan who was dad's favorite jamming partner, Angela Nolan (Brian East) who talked his ear off too much, Johnna Charleen Nolan, "his namesake" who always made sure he never ran out of tie dye and the girls mother Eileen Nolan. Above all else he adored and loved being known as Pop Pop to his grandsons that absolutely thought the world of him. The smart and musically talented Matthew John Hare and the wild and funny, Zane East. He is also leaving behind a niece, Melissa Blubaugh, and many nephews, Joey Nolan, Joshua Nolan, Bryan Shaffer, Joseph Jefcoat, Jermey Jefcoat, Chad Warner, and Danny Warner.
John Nolan loved music and rocking-out no matter if he was DJing a party or singing in numerous bands over the years. There is no doubt he is singing and shredding the air guitar right this minute.
Come rock out with the family as they remember and celebrate John's life on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Barrellville Outdoor Club.
Come dressed in your finest tie dye!
