John Metz

John Ollen Metz, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born on February 4, 1928, in Barton, he was the son of the late Clarence Jeffrey and Mabel (Myers) Metz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Doris Johnson and son Johnny Metz.

John retired from Frostburg State University where he was employed as a stationery engineer.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Sally Ann (Miller) Metz; children, Rose Becker, Irene Schultz, Barb Leonard, Dale Jacobs, Wendy Jacobs, Clarence “Scott” Metz; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be private for the family with Rev. Rob Culler officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
