John L Diehl

93, of Sunnyside, passed away February 28, 2014 at the Allegany County Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born April 6, 1920, in Mt. Savage, he was the son of the late John F. Diehl and Lula Ann Michaels.  He is also preceded in death by his wife Rose Diehl, a son; John W. Diehl, four sisters and seven brothers.

John worked for Ritchie trucking formally Winner Brothers Coal Company. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and member of the 104th Infantry Division in Europe; and a member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion.

Surviving are one brother; James Diehl, Michigan; cousin and honorary brother; Joe Diehl, daughter-in-law; Patricia Diehl, New Jersey, and friend Dale Clark of Mt. Savage.

John was cremated in accordance with his wishes.
