John Barry

John Wells Barry (JACK), age 84, of Frostburg, MD, passed away on August 18, 2023. Jack is survived by two brothers, Paul (Ed) Barry and his wife Rosalie and Benjamin Barry and wife Donna. He is predeceased by his parents Paul and Betty Barry.

Jack graduated from Beall High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1961.

Many may remember seeing Jack driving his John Deere Tractor to the Frostburg Freeze, a familiar sight around town. He marched to the beat of a different drummer, but he loved Frostburg, fishing, baseball and football. Jack was always kind to animals and adored his little dog Sissy. He called her his beautiful girl and was lost without her after she died. His family prays that he, too, is at peace now.

The Barrys wish to thank the staff at Goodwill Retirement Community for the loving care they provided for Jack.

Visitation with the family will be held at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at noon. 

Interment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park.
