Joan Wheeler

Joan Gertrude Wheeler, 87, of Frostburg passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at Hearthstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 25, 1933 in Baltimore to Clifton H. Whittemore and Jesse Lipincott.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Garnett Wheeler Sr.; siblings, Jerry Doyle, Grace Corcoran, Chris Whittemore, Charles Whittemore and James Whittemore.

Joan loved bingo and reading books.

Surviving are her daughters, JoAnne Wilt, Elouise Gibbner and husband Troy; son, Garnett V. Wheeler Jr and wife Sherry; seven grandchildren, John Michaels, Jr., Julie Davis, Joseph Michaels, Nathan Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, Jessica Gibbner and Tony Gibbner; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private, and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery along with her husband.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations in honor of her grandson, John Michaels, to be sent to Resources For Independence, 735 E Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, MD 21502
