James K. Reed

James Kevin Reed, 59, of Frostburg, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born in Frostburg on March 26, 1963 to Roy James Reed, JR and Willa Jean Reed (Duncan).

Jim graduated from Beall High School in 1981 and Frostburg State College in 1984.  Furthering his education, he attended Dickinson Law School in Carlisle, PA.  Jim started his law career with the Larry Kelly firm in Cumberland.  Showing interest in Military Law, he joined the Army Jag Core serving for 5 years.  His duties were in Washington, D.C., Ft. Belvoir, VA, and the Army War College in Carlisle, PA.  After Military service, he practiced law in Hagerstown, MD for 33 years.  Jim was an avid hunter and fly fisherman.  He enjoyed the outdoors whether that was fishing with family or friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Jodi Froehlich (Edward) and Cathy Reed; niece, Hannah Froehlich Riker (Ethan); nephew, Dylan Froehlich (Kyla Kellogg). He also leaves behind hi beloved dogs, Max and Gracie.  

A private ceremony will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.
