James Miller

CORRIGANVILLE, MD - James Phillip Miller, 85, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Mountain City Rehabilitation Center, Frostburg MD.

Born December 5, 1939, in Cumberland MD, he was the son of Norman and Virginia (Traywick) Miller. He was preceded in death by brother, Donald Miller, sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Miller and Ruth Jane Miller, brother-in-law Ronald Flora.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Jane R. Miller; children, Shawn Miller (Kimberly), Frostburg MD, Julie Hartman (Daniel) Ellerslie MD, and Cheryl A, Bielen (Gregg) Centreville VA; grandchildren, Mathew R. Bielen (Caitlin), Ashleigh (Bielen) Aviles (Haziel), Emily N. Bielen, all of Centreville VA; brother, Harold Wayne Miller LaVale, MD, sister Mary Sue Flora, Pine Hill NJ, and several nieces and nephews.

Jim graduated from Mt. Savage High School in 1957, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the, USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, as a helicopter mechanic.

He worked in the automotive industry for many years and owned his own business, "Miller's Auto Appraisal Service," company for 10 years before his retirement in 2003. He was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in LaVale, MD. In addition to his family, his passions were golf, fishing and woodworking.

He was a hard worker all his life and always ready to lend a helping hand to others.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, LaVale, MD, on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at 2 pm, officiated by Pastor Daniel Swanson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made on the family's behalf to, Christ Lutheran Church, 1222 Vocke Rd, Cumberland, MD 21502.
