Herman F.“Herky” Humbertson, 87, of Frostburg, died on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born January 9, 1926, in Frostburg, to the parents of Ervin “Himey” Humbertson and Henrietta (Rizer) Humbertson. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colleen (Dundon) Humberston; sons, Eric Michael Humberston and Kurt P. Humbertson.
Herky was the former owner and operator of H&D Novelty Company, a U.S. Navy Veteran WWII serving on the USS Randall AAPA 224 and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was Past Commander and lifetime member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion, member of Nancy Hanks VFW in Keyser, the Frostburg Moose Lodge 348, and Maplehurst Country Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Chris Cameron and husband Roy; grandson, Chroy Cameron and wife Ashley, Frostburg, granddaughter, Kyra Pinelli and husband R.J. of Valrico, Fla; great grandchildren, Justin Pinelli and wife Bridgit, Virginia Beach, Athena Pinelli, Rocco Pinelli, Lucca Pinelli, and Cash Cameron; brother, Robert Humbertson and wife Annette, LaVale, and sister, Nancy and husband William Norris, LaVale; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church, Frostburg, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11 am.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Frostburg Elks Lodge 470 will hold a Memorial Service at 7:30 pm on Friday.
Military Honors will be accorded by Farrady Post 24 American Legion Honor Guard.
