Helena C. Robinette, 108, of Mt. Savage passed away on July 16, 2019 at Goodwill Retirement Community surrounded by her family.
Born on August 10, 1910, in Mt. Savage, she was the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Bennett) Bridges.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louis H. Robinette; son, Gene Robinette; grandchild Cindy Lou; brothers, Orville, Clinton, Clayton, Gerald and Ronald; sisters, Annabell, Leona and Audrey. She was the oldest and the last of her siblings.
Helena was a full-time housewife and often did baking and laundry for other people. She enjoyed gardening and loved canning what she grew. When she had time, she worked at a dress shop and in a meat shop. Helena was a member of Mt. Savage United Methodist Church, Rebecca Arnold Chapter #57 Order of the Eastern Star, where she once served as Worthy Matron, Mt. Savage senior citizens and once served as the secretary of the church.
Surviving are; son Gary Robinette; daughter Kay Ann Grimm; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren with two more on the way.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5-7 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11 am, at Mt. Savage United Methodist Church, with Rev. Sandra Hetz Burchell and Barry Beal officiating.
In accordance with her wishes, Helena will be cremated following the service.
