Helen Twigg
August 24, 1931 — July 28, 2014
Helen LaVern (Lockard) Twigg passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Frostburg Village Nursing and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness at the age of 82.
Born August 24, 1931, in Frostburg, to the late George E. Lockard and Ruth (Steele) Lockard. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Inez Shimer, Eva Rizer, one brother; G. Adrian Lockard, and one granddaughter; Melissa Ann Abe. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Helen was a member of First Congregational Church in Frostburg and Women of the Moose #348, Frostburg. She was briefly employed by ABL before becoming a homemaker and mother, raising her two daughters.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Dale K. Twigg; two daughters, Rebecca A. Brown and husband Donald, Finzel, Beverly S. Lancaster and husband Dayne, Frostburg; grandchildren, Laura Kyer and husband Matt of Rock Hill, SC, Bryan D. Brown and wife Stephanie of Great Mills, MD, Jared D. Lancaster and Fiancé Heather Minnigh of Odenton, MD and Jason D. Brown of Finzel. Also surviving are two great- grandchildren Macy Ann Kyer and Lucas Daniel Brown.
Helen was a wonderful, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and she will be forever in our hearts.
