Harry L. Diehl, 87, of Midlothian, went to be with his Lord and savior on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 23, 1936, to the late Masson T. and Ellen E. (Parry) Diehl. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his brothers, Tommy and Mason Diehl.
Harry was a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from the CSX Railroad where he worked as a Machinist and Supervisor.
After retirement, Harry spent many hours ministering to elderly members of the community. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and metal detecting. Harry always had a joke or something witty to say in conversation and valued his family time including weekly family dinner. In his later years he enjoyed feeding the squirrels and turkeys where some would eat right out of his hand. There was never a job too big or small for Harry who always had a to-do list or something to fix. He was always busy and ready to help whenever he could. Harry was a member of Mt. City Church (formerly Welsh Baptist Church) where he served as choir member, deacon and trustee.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Marlene J. (Folk) Diehl; daughter, Barbara Terry and husband Jim; son, Allan Diehl and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Corey Stahl, Logan Stahl, Drake Diehl and wife Katie and Hunter Diehl and wife Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Isla and Asher; brother, Frank Diehl.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm.
Internment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery.
