Harold M. “ Bitty” Bittner
70, of Frostburg, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born November 6, 1944, in Frostburg, to Elmer Bittner and Iola (Johnson) Bittner. He is preceded in death by his parents and triplet brother, Jarold H. Bittner.
Harold was a Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam and retired from the Maintenance Department at Westvaco. He was a life member of Frostburg Volunteer Fire Department and Allegany County Fire Police; a member of Oakland Elks, Moose Lodge #348, Farrady Post American Legion #24, and Cresaptown Eagles #2883.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Donna (Dayton) Bittner; daughters, Cindy Davis and fiancé Patrick, Frostburg and Sharri Frenzel and Craig, Frostburg; three grandchildren, Tony Frenzel, Tyler Frenzel, and Ashlee Lenhart; three great grandchildren, Adam Frenzel, Robert Care, and Kaydence Lenhart; triplet sister, Carol Ann Klink, LaVale and sisters, Mary Stott, Oldtown and Darlene Lavin, Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. The Frostburg Fire Department will hold a memorial service at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will follow at Methodist Cemetery, Vale Summit.
Pallbearers will be Craig Neilson, Rob Neilson, Tony Frenzel, Tyler Frenzel, Jeff Bittner, and Jerry Bittner.
Military Honors will be accorded by Farrady Post #24 American Legion Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Frostburg Fire Department, PO Box 461, Frostburg, MD 21532.
