Gerald Zumpano

Gerald “Jerry” Zumpano, 86, peacefully passed away at his home and went to be with the lord on July 16, 2021.

Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Viola Zumpano; brothers, Vincent and Joe Zumpano and nephew, Aaron Zumpano.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley V. Zumpano; daughter, Michelle Zumpano of Frostburg, MD; stepchildren, Janice Pillai of Frostburg, MD,  Milton Jones of LaVale, MD, and Vickie Moran Pismo and long term partner Zeke Wells of Beach, CA; grandchildren, Milton Jones Jr. and wife Cassie of Parkville, MD, Shawn Pillai of LaVale, MD and Shanti Pillai and partner Brett Hogle of Pittsburgh, PA; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Pillai and Cecelia Jones; brother, Gene Zumpano and wife Pam of Winter Haven, FL; nephews and nieces, Stephen Zumpano and wife Alyssa of California, MD, Maria Zumpano of LaVale, MD and Terri Zumpano of Short Gap, WV.

After graduating from Beall High School, he worked as a meat cutter at IGA for 40 years where he retired. Jerry was passionate about rabbit hunting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Most important to him was his family. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and had a boundless support for his wife, children and grandchildren all of who he will be remembered and cherished by. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Shirley, Michelle, Vickie, Janice, Milton, and grandchildren.

The Zumpano family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice UPMC Western Maryland, hospice nurse Kerri and Western Maryland Regional Dialysis Center Cumberland, MD for their compassion and professional care during his illness.
