George Whetstone

George Franklin “Sonny” Whetstone, 81, of Shaft, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Born on March 4, 1934, in Maryland, he was the son of the late George M. and Margaret (Skelley) Whetstone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles E. “Chuck” Whetstone and Joseph Whetstone; sisters, Ruth Dudley, Rosalie Kyler, Maxine Lyons and Judith Crissinger.
George was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and loved watching them play.
Surviving are his wife Vera (Winters) Whetstone; son, George D. Whetstone and special friend Mary Beth; daughter, Lisa Keating and husband Eric; granddaughters, Christin Keating and Emily Keating; brother, James Whetstone and wife Sheila; and numerous nieces and nephews.
