Gary Edward Snyder, 76, of Mount Savage passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 3, 2025.

Born August 14, 1948 in Sandpatch, PA, was the son of the late Allan and Ida Mae (Brown) Snyder. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Yates and brother-in-law, David Hutzell; sister-in-law, Sue Hutzell.

Gary graduated from Mt. Savage School in 1967 and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the Mt. Savage VFW and Barrelville Sportsman's club where he did the fishing rodeo for years.

Gary retired from the Mt. Savage Brickyard and was an avid recycler, loved hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife Sharon Snyder; son, Scott and daughter, Renee; grandchildren Emma and Levi who he loved dearly. Brothers, Allan Snyder and wife Peggy, Larry Snyder and wife Roxy; sister, Karen M Snyder. His in-laws; Jim, Linda (Skip), Chuck (Debbie), Cobey (Uli) and Rhonda; numerous nieces and nephews and one special niece, Carrie who was like a daughter. His lifelong best friend Bobby Butler.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 12 to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
