Gary Beal

Gary Allan Beal, 81, of Frostburg, went to be with his Lord Monday, January 11, 2021 at UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville, PA.

Born November 4, 1939 in Frostburg to Arthur and Thelma (Barnes) Beal, he is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Arthur Beal, Jr.

Gary was a 1958 graduate of Beall High School. He then later received his certification in HVAC and Refrigeration. He was a 21-year employee of Kelly Springfield Tire Company, and later retired from his position as Maintenance Supervisor at the Holiday Inn in Cumberland. He was a member and Trustee at First Presbyterian Church of Frostburg; a long-standing member of the Board of Directors at Piney Mountain Sportsman’s Association; a founding member and Board of Directors member at Big Savage Sportsman’s Association; a member of Allegany-Garrett Sportsman’s Association; a Range Safety Officer at Frostburg Rifle/Pistol Range; and a volunteer at “There Is A Santa” program, a charity for disadvantaged children sponsored by the Barrelville Outdoor Club, as well as being a friend to all animals.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 61 years, Joanne (Loar) Beal; loving children, daughter Terry Linn (Beal) Berkley and husband Timothy Clarence Berkley; son Scott Allan Beal and wife Lisa Ann (Roberson) Beal; cherished grandsons Jonathan Roy Berkley and wife Maria (Halik) Berkley; Gregory DeVon Berkley and wife Kayla Lynn (Ritchey) Berkley; and Kyle August Georg; beloved great-grandsons Dominic Blaine Berkley and Lincoln Timothy Berkley; devoted sister Carol Ann (Beal) Bollinger and husband Robert Lee Bollinger; loving sister-in-law Yvonne (Row) Beal; multiple nieces and nephews.

There will be a private service for immediate family at Durst Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Molter officiating; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Gary will be interred at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens in La Vale, MD.

In memory of Gary, the family asks that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Frostburg General Fund or the American Heart Association.
