Eugene "Buddy" Michaels SR.

Eugene “Buddy” J. Michaels SR, 78, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Peace Healthcare at Lions Center.

Born on November 20, 1943 to the late Jane (Urbas) and Bernard Michaels.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Michaels.

Buddy was a veteran of the Navy and was member of the American Legion Farrady Post #24, Frostburg Eagles, and Piney Mountain Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and horse-back riding also riding on his four-wheeler. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his sons, Kevin J. Michaels and wife Hope, Gavin “Shorty” Michaels and wife Barbie, Brandon S. Michaels and significant other Jennifer Portmess, Jedadiah Michaels and Wife Tara; grandchildren, Bryce Bryer Michaels, Caden Michaels, Mika “Catfish” Valentine; sister, Barbara Vizza; cousin, John Urbas; special friends, Dave “Tiger” Norris and Larry Goldizen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 10:00 A.M to 10:45 A.M.

A funeral mass will be held at Divine Mercy Parish on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Ed Hendricks officiating.

Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery with military honors accorded.
