Elizabeth “Betty” Stains, 89, of Frostburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born in Frostburg, MD, on November 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Edith Wegman Starkey.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by brothers, John Starkey, Charles Starkey and his wife Elnora, infant son Ray Stains, nephews Charles Starkey, Jr and James Starkey.
Mrs. Stains was a graduate of the Beall High School class of 1942. She retired from the A&P Deli Department in Frederick, MD. She was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Frostburg.
Surviving are daughter Glenda Traverso of Gaithersburg, MD; son, David Lee Stains and wife Jamie of Mt. Airy, MD; niece Mariane Still and husband David of Finksburg, MD
Betty was cremated in accordance with her wishes.
Inurnment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made.
