Elizabeth A. Shaffer

Elizabeth A. (Norris) Shaffer, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Dawnview Nursing Home.

Born November 9, 1936, in Mt. Savage, she was the daughter of the late William H. “Tuck” Sr. and Josephine Mae (Werner) Norris. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Shaffer; brothers William Norris, Jr., Francis Norris, James Norris, Vincent Norris and sister Mary Fabbri.

Mrs. Shaffer was Methodist by faith. She was a member of Mt. Savage Fire Dept. and EMT’s.

She retired from HRDC. She also bartended for 10 years at Shaff’s Tavern and VFW. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed doing crafts.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Shaffer and wife Shirley, Short Gap, WV, John "Bill" Shaffer and wife Lou Ann, Mt. Savage; granddaughter, Autumn (Shaffer) Eisenhauer and husband Michael; grandson, Richard Shaffer Jr.; three great grandchildren, Emily Karen, Michael Jr., and Ada Shaffer; Brother, Regis Norris and wife Jane; Sister, Pauline Ritchey. 

Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday, November 22, from 12:00PM-2:00PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM, with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.

Interment will be at Mount Savage Methodist Cemetery.
