Elizabeth "Smoke" Myers

After a full and blessed life, Elizabeth "Smoke" Myers of Frostburg, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27. She was just weeks shy of her 98th birthday.

A lifelong resident of Frostburg, Smoke was a graduate of Beall High School and Catherman's Business School. After raising her family, she returned to work at the Fidelity Bank where she remained until she retired.

A petite lady with a big heart and personality, Smoke's warmth and smile touched so many during her 97 years. She was a devoted lifelong member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church and a proud charter member of Maplehurst Country Club. She was also a lifetime member of the Frostburg House and Garden Club, auxiliary member of the Frostburg Moose Lodge and American Legion, and a member of the Red Hat Society and Frostburg Senior Citizens.

Smoke was also very proud to have helped organize -- along with her husband Wayne "Dink" Myers -- the first Frostburg library where she served as its initial volunteer librarian.

She is predeceased by her husband Wayne "Dink" Myers, brother William Sanged, and son-in-law Jon Feingersh. She is survived by her two daughters -- her "girls" -- Lisa Myers Feingersh (Rockville, MD) and Paula Kay Myers (Columbia, MD), as well as her grandchildren Rachel Feingersh and Jacob Feingersh.

The family sincerely thanks the staff of Sterling Care Assisted Living where Smoke lived for the past 5 years as well as UPMC Western Maryland Hospice. Their exemplary care -- as well as their love and support to Smoke and her family - provided peace of mind for all, knowing she was getting the care and attention she so deserved.

There will be no public viewing or burial, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charities of choice.
