Dorothy Allen

Dorothy “Dot” Jean Allen, 71, passed peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Katie’s Personal Care Home, Confluence, Pa.
Born August 3, 1942 in Greensburg, Pa to Merle Allen and Mable Irene (Silvis) Allen. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Dot worked at Friends Aware, volunteered at Willow Valley Apartments and participated in Special Olympics in Track.
Surviving are three sisters, Barbara Harding, Georgia, Sandy Allen, Cumberland, and Bonnie Bean, Frostburg; two brothers, Dennis Merle, Virginia and David N. Allen, Burlington, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dot was cremated in accordance with her wishes.
A memorial service will be held at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Dan Taylor officiating, friends will be received one hour prior to service.
Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff and nurses at Katie’s Home for the wonderful care given to Dot during her stay there.
