Doris Layman

Doris Helene (Buckalew) Layman, 91, of Frostburg passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020 at Mountain City Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born on July 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Britt and Mary (Hansel) Buckalew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Morgan Layman and son, Thomas Lynn Layman. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters John Phillip Buckalew, James O. Buckalew, Rose Mary McMillan, Sara Ruth Kesner and Margret Colleen Colmer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Doris loved her family and friends and was an avid bingo player.  She was a member of the Shaft United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughter Norma Haker; son, Robert J. Layman and Pam; daughter-in-law, Kelli Layman; granddaughter, Lisa Bowman and husband Jon; grandson, Korey Layman; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Lilianna, Joshua and Violet; and many nieces and nephews that dearly loved her and she loved them.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD on Thursday, November 19, 2020, from 5-7 pm.

Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 1 pm with Chris Skidmore officiating.

Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park.
