Delores Waites

Frances “Delores” Waites, 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Devlin Manor Health Care Center.
Born on November 19, 1932, in Piedmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Sarah V. Washington and Daniel Frederick Ross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Othellus “Bay” Waites in 1979; son, Chuck Waites; great-granddaughter, Shylese Waites; brothers, Dan Ross, John Ross, Ronald Ross and Kenneth Ross.
Delores was a homemaker and attended God’s Ark of Safety. She was a former member of the Frostburg Lions and was active in Boys and Girls Little League baseball. She was an avid bingo player and loved bingo gossip. As an outspoken lady, she was always willing to help a family member in need.
Surviving are children, James Petie Ross and wife Cathy, Jeff Waites and wife Diane, Deidre Waites and companion Patti Fetters, Richard C. Ross and wife Jody, Rodney Ross and companion Lori; daughter-in-law Regina Waites; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Bush.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Md, Sunday, April 24, 2016, from 2-6 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 25, 2016, at 11 am with Rev. Everett Spence officiating.
Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park.
