Delbert W. Stewart, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on July 12, 1929, in McDonald, PA, he was the son of the late James W. and Sylvia E. (Brabson) Stewart.
In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Jefferies) Stewart and was the last remaining member of his immediate family.
Delbert was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Following his discharge from the military, he was owner and operator of D.W. Stewart, Inc. He was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
Delbert loved visiting the farm and showing horses with his kids and later in life he had the joy of watching his granddaughter show horses. He attended and cheered for his grandson in his many car races.
Surviving are his son, James “Jim” Stewart and wife Donna; daughter, Carol Cosner and husband Randy; eight grandchildren, Nan Oker and husband Ollie, Matthew Cosner and wife Beth, Eric Broadwater and wife Misty, Amber Humbertson and husband Will, Kayla Phipps and husband Tim, Tara Stewart, Tyler Stewart and wife Monica and Nicholas Stewart and wife Misty; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Delbert will be cremated.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Monday, June 8, 2020, from noon to 2 pm.
A Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Harold McClay officiating.
Inurnment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park.
