Deanna Faye Pollock

Deanna Faye Pollock, 81, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Wednesday, January 17, 2024. 

Born in Keyser, WV on February 20, 1942 to the late Adeline and Monroe Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her only loving son, Melvin "Sonny" Rhode, sister and brother in law, Shirley and Rick Rice; brothers, Harry Barrick and Richard Barrick and wife Janeen. 

Deanna wed Ralph "Ernie" Pollock in July 1966 and has since resided together in Mt. Savage, MD.

She was a homemaker who had a love for her family, pets and music. In her younger year she could  be found singing in the choir and praise team of the Mt. Savage United Methodist Church. Deanna and Ralph were the founding members of "The Seekers' a christian/bluegrass musical group that traveled every week to the local nursing homes to share their love of music and visit with the residents.

Many would say she lost her battle with cancer but her loving devotion to Ralph, her home and her beloved cat "Baby" kept her running her home until her final two months showing us all that true faith, devotion and resilience can overcome any battle.

Deanna leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins along with a few "adopted kids" that she claimed as her own - James and Melissa Farrell of Frostburg, Deb and Donnie Miller II of Mt. Savage and Lou, Rebecca and Stephanie Nigh of Mt. Savage, Tracey Smith of Mt. Savage and Sherry and Eric Riggs of Mt. Savage. A special friend and neighbor Kathy and Leo Mills.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the UPMC Hospice Home Care and The Assisted Living staff at Sterling Care in Frostburg for the love and care provided these last few months.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 10 to 12 at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD. A funeral service will be held at 12 (noon) with Rev. Burchell officiating.
